Traditional Havurah Saturday afternoon programming is on pause due to COVID-19. Please check back as we hope to re-open in September 2021.

Jewish Journeys is inviting first and second-grade students to participate in JJP offerings. For these students, we will be offering From Slavery to Freedom: The Stories of Exodus as the “core” class. Students will jump into the second book of the Torah this semester – the Book of Exodus! Here, you will meet Moses, Aaron, Miriam, Pharoah, and the Children of Israel who spent hundreds of years as slaves. Each session will focus on a value we learn from these biblical stories and how they form the backbone of the Passover holiday. Participants will receive a box full of materials and art supplies to participate in these hands-on activities and create a series of watercolor books depicting these biblical stories to share at their Passover seder this year. New students are welcome to join! We are thrilled that Havurah Director, Gabriella Kula will be teaching.

Additionally, 1st and 2nd-grade children will receive twelve 30-minute online sessions through our Hebrew Homepage platform. Each child can choose to learn the Aleph-Bet and beginning decoding, or take our class called I Spy: Jewish Symbols designed especially for them. These are one-one-one experiences. Parents select a tutor on our booking site based on their child’s availability.

Lastly, first and second grade learners can also participate in one monthly Intensive which takes place four times/semester. We are thrilled to offer two choices: mainstages: LIVE! An Interactive Jewish Improv Program for Grade 1-4 and Bubbie’s Kitchen for Grade 1-4
